Welcome to the SparkyMinis Newsletter

SparkyMinis Team 16 Aug 2026

Hi, and welcome. This is the first issue of the SparkyMinis newsletter, so before we start sending you product tips and "here's what we shipped" updates, we want to say what SparkyMinis actually is, and who's actually behind it.

Who's building this

SparkyMinis wasn't built in a boardroom — it was built on trains, in airports, and at kitchen tables. We're a family of travelers, builders, and parents who wanted a workspace that could keep up with our own messy, beautiful lives, so we built one focused tool at a time until it became a suite. Our journey started with a simple problem: managing our own businesses while traveling the world with our family, and not being able to find a single platform that respected both sides of that — the business side and the life side. So we built one. You can read the full story on our about page.

The very first spark was the Trips App, which we launched in October 2025 as a standalone tool to solve the chaos of multi-destination travel. Once we realized travel was just one part of a wider lifestyle, we merged that logic into what's now SparkyMinis, to help manage both global business and personal adventures in one place.

One product, per job

Most "all-in-one" business software ends up doing five things badly instead of one thing well. SparkyMinis takes the opposite approach: a suite of focused, single-purpose products, each one built to be genuinely complete and useful on its own. Right now that's SparkyTours and SparkyOnTour for travel operators and their travelers, and a Business Suite covering SparkyInvoices, SparkyExpenses, SparkyContacts, SparkyProjects, SparkyLoop, and SparkySite.

You don't need all of them. If all you need is invoicing, SparkyInvoices works fine on its own — check its feature list if you want specifics. But if you're already using a few, they snap together automatically: shared contacts across products, billable time and expenses flowing straight into invoices, no integration work, no Zapier gymnastics. One login gets you into whichever app you need, through SparkyLi, the suite's front door.

Built India-first, global-ready

Every product in the Business Suite is GST-aware out of the box — HSN/SAC codes, GSTIN fields, compliant invoice formatting. At the same time, everything supports multi-currency and multi-timezone, so it holds up whether your clients are down the street or on another continent — the same "for business, for life" split we needed ourselves when we needed robust invoicing and project tracking on one side, and a way to plan trips and hop borders seamlessly on the other.

What "connected" actually looks like

A concrete example, since "products snap together" can sound like filler until you actually see it work: a consultancy using SparkyProjects to track billable hours across client work can pull that time straight into SparkyInvoices as ready-made line items when it's time to bill. No re-entering numbers, no spreadsheet in between, and the source hours get marked billed automatically so nothing gets charged twice. The same pattern repeats across the suite — SparkyExpenses' billable spend flows into invoices the same way, and SparkyContacts can pull in a baseline of contacts from products like SparkyTours' traveler list. Each product still stands on its own if that's all you need; the sync is there for when you're running more than one.

Data you actually own

We don't just follow privacy policies, we build for data sovereignty. Your data belongs to you — export it whenever you need, no "Hotel California" lock-in. A few products, SparkyTours among them, support Bring Your Own Storage, meaning your files live in your own Google Drive or OneDrive instead of being locked into ours. We're a tool for your success, not a broker for your data — that's not a slogan we bolted on after the fact, it's close to the whole reason this suite exists.

Beyond the products

Since late 2025 we've also run the Applied Gen AI Mastery Workshop, teaching the same technologies we use to build SparkyMinis — over 100 students have gone through it so far — alongside some Strategic Consulting work in the data and AI space. It's a smaller side of what we do, but it comes from the same place: we decided early on to build differently, no VC pressure, no growth hacking, just sustainable software built by humans, for humans.

What this newsletter will actually be

Going forward, expect this weekly, built around what we've actually written and shipped that week — not a manufactured topic to fill space. Most weeks that means pointers to new posts on individual product blogs (how-tos, real workflows, things we've fixed), and occasionally a broader note like this one. We're a small team building in public as we go, so some weeks will be quieter than others, and that's fine — we'd rather send you something real than pad it out to look busy.

If there's a product workflow you're stuck on, or something you want written up, just reply and tell us. That's exactly the kind of thing worth covering here.

Thanks for being here early.
